Firestore is a serverless NoSQL document database service from Google Cloud designed to store application data in documents organized into collections. On Associate Data Practitioner it comes up as a storage solution to evaluate when classifying semi-structured data requirements against structured and unstructured alternatives.

What you can expect on the exam

Semi-structured data storage selection. Expect to evaluate Firestore as a target storage solution when applications require semi-structured document storage, such as user profiles or catalogs with flexible schemas.
Document hierarchy and nested data structures. You may need to understand how Firestore structures data into documents and collections, including support for subcollections and nested key-value fields.
Relational mappings and query scaling in Datastore mode. Be ready to recognize how relational concepts map to entities and kinds in Firestore in Datastore mode, as well as how queries scale with result set size rather than dataset size.
