Cloud SQL is a fully managed relational database service for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server that frees users from database administration tasks. On Associate Data Practitioner it comes up as a relational storage choice for structured OLTP workloads alongside backup, recovery, and replication strategies.

What you can expect on the exam

Importing data from Cloud Storage. Be ready to manage data imports using uncompressed CSV or compressed GZ files from Cloud Storage into designated databases and tables within a Cloud SQL instance.
Backup and disaster recovery strategies. You may need to distinguish Google-managed recovery mechanisms for Cloud SQL, including automated backups and point-in-time recovery, when planning business continuity.
Replication for availability and read scalability. Know the difference between configuring cross-region replicas for disaster recovery and geographic data residency versus using replication configurations for high availability and read scalability in Cloud SQL.
