Cloud Scheduler is a fully managed cron job scheduler used to schedule and run recurring units of work or trigger jobs on a regular cadence. On Associate Data Practitioner it comes up as an orchestration tool for automating the periodic execution of BigQuery jobs using cron syntax and managing failures with retry policies.

What you can expect on the exam

Cron syntax for task scheduling. Expect to use cron syntax when configuring Cloud Scheduler to establish recurring execution schedules for automated data tasks.
Retry policies and failure handling. You may need to manage job failures by setting up appropriate retry policies within Cloud Scheduler configurations.
Asynchronous triggering via Pub/Sub. Expect to encounter scenarios where Cloud Scheduler publishes scheduled messages to Pub/Sub to trigger downstream processes like Cloud Run services.
