Archive storage class

What you can expect on the exam

• Suitability for long-term retention and backup. Be ready to identify the Archive storage class as the lowest-cost option in Cloud Storage for rarely accessed long-term retention, online backup, and disaster recovery.
• Access frequency and operation costs. Expect to evaluate access patterns, keeping in mind that frequent read requests on data in the Archive storage class generate excess operation costs.
• Object Lifecycle Management transitions. You may need to assess how Object Lifecycle Management rules transition data to the Archive storage class based on object age and business retention needs.
• Mainframe archive storage configuration. Be ready to consider the Archive storage class when creating Cloud Storage buckets designated for long-term mainframe archives.
