Locally redundant storage (LRS) is the most basic and cost-effective data redundancy offering in Azure Storage. It copies your data synchronously three times within a single physical data center in the primary region.

How It Meets the Requirements

• Protection against local failures: LRS writes three distinct replicas across separate fault domains and upgrade domains within a single facility, protecting data from individual disk, server, or rack failures.
• Lowest possible cost: Because replication stays within a single physical building and does not incur inter-zone or inter-region network transfer fees, LRS provides the lowest storage unit pricing among all Azure redundancy tiers.
• No extraneous replication: LRS aligns perfectly with the requirement that cross-zone and cross-region replication are unnecessary for non-critical assets.
